Melbourne Cardiac Anaesthesia Inc. (MCA) was created by a core group of anaesthetists who share a similar practice philosophy and commitment to providing the highest quality clinical care to their patients.
MCA exists to facilitate the ongoing education and professional development of its members. This is achieved through the sharing of knowledge and clinical experience amongst the anaesthetic members of the group. |

MCA provides the forum for this to occur through regular clinical meetings at which the anaesthetists are able to discuss clinical cases, review echocardiography studies and be part of other professional development activities.MCA is a unique anaesthetic group in that it is comprised of anaesthetists who all practice in the same sub-specialty field. Cardiac and thoracic anaesthesia is a significant component of the practice of each MCA member.
MCA is comprised of a diverse group of highly experienced cardiac anaesthetists. Members include a mix of practitioners in both full time public and private practice in Melbourne. Our members work with a wide range of cardio-thoracic surgeons in many of the cardiac surgical units around Melbourne. Teaching junior anaesthetists and participating in research projects is also a significant component of our MCA members practices. All anaesthetists who belong to MCA do so for reasons of collegiality, support, collaboration and most importantly for sharing knowledge and experience, ultimately to continue to enhance the quality and safety of the care they provide to their patients.
